Popular stroller brand Mockingbird issued a voluntary recall on November 10, 2022, for its single-to-double stroller due to a fall risk to children. The company issued the recall after receiving reports of cracking in the side of its frame. We tested this stroller in the Verywell Testing Lab in New York City and previously included it on our best single-to-double convertible strollers list. But due to this recall and additional insights from our long-term tester, we no longer recommend this stroller for families. We highly recommend Mockingbird users check their stroller’s lot number to determine if their stroller is affected. We tested several other convertible strollers—many of which performed better than the Mockingbird, even before this recall—in our lab earlier this year. Single-to-double strollers work like magic, transforming from one seat to two as your family grows, and some may include a third riding option for older siblings. If you were considering buying a Mockingbird and are wondering what to buy instead, we stand by these five strollers for growing families.
